About Future Chairs Ltd

Future Chairs Ltd was founded, and is owned by Marcus Cunnington. With an engineering background in aerospace and Formula 1, Future Chairs Ltd decided to design and build a carbon fibre wheelchair whilst Sir Frank Williams sitting in his wheelchair gave 'race bay' talks about the seasons grand prix's, Marcus thought that his chair looked 'too clinical' and the design could be greatly improved upon.

With that Future Chairs Ltd, started to design and develop a state of the art wheelchair.

The chairs were designed in-house using Computer Aided Design from there a prototype was manuafctured and tested.

Positive comments from the MHRA test centre in Blackpool gave the inspiration needed to build a production definition model and invest in Computer Numerically Controlled machined high quality moulds and tooling.

Today, the 'Free Spirit' range of wheelchairs are hand-made using premium materials and fine-tolerance construction methods, each one manufactured to the customer’s specifications and dimensions.

Marcus says: It has been a considerable challenge to produce such a wheelchair, but customers wonderful comments like these below, are fantastic and make all the hard work, design, testing and manufacture worth it.
